I am so happy today, so very fortunate, that I get to attend the Perak State level Chinese New Year open house at the residence of the Menteri Besar, hosted by the MB YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir and his wife, Datin Seri Saripah Zulkifli. You see, I have never attended any open house before but decided to do so this year. Yeah, despite a packed Chinese New Year schedule.

Much to our delight, Hollywood superstar Ipoh-born Bond girl, Dato’ Michelle Yeoh, made an appearance with her mother, a local icon in her own right, Datin Janet Yeoh, her brother and her very beautiful niece. Obviously, I did not let go of the opportunity to shoot, shoot and shoot.

The God of Prosperity made an appearance with an adult and a child bunnies who willing posed for photographs with guests of the open house. This open house wasn’t short on Chinese culture and tradition. The VVIPs “lou sang”. This was followed by a short speech by the Menteri Besar Perak, double lion dances by a “Sam Wong Kung” lion troupe from Batu Gajah, Perak, lighting of double fire crackers and singing and dancing performances by local artistes.

We were all invited to feast ourselves soon after on local food, from mee goreng, mee rebus, cendol, curry, fried chicken, chapati, kuey toew and rojak buah. Sausages, nuggets and ice cream were also served. There was plenty of food, as you can see from these photos that I have enclosed below.
